Privacy policy

We respect your privacy and handle your personal information in line with the Protection of Personal Information Act (POPIA). This page explains what we collect, why, and what you can ask us to do with it.

Who is responsible

Our information officer can be reached at info@howzatseat.co.za.

What we collect

  • Your name, email address and phone number
  • Your delivery address
  • What you ordered, what you paid and your order history
  • For trade and school accounts: organisation name, VAT number and contact person
  • Messages you send us through the contact form, email or WhatsApp
  • Basic technical information such as your browser type, collected to keep the site working and secure

We do not collect or store your card details. Payments are made on PayFast's secure pages, and PayFast handles your payment information under its own privacy policy.

Why we use it

  • To process, deliver and support your order
  • To send order confirmations, invoices, tracking and warranty information
  • To run trade and school accounts
  • To reply to your enquiries
  • To meet our tax and accounting duties
  • To send you news or offers, only if you asked for them. You can unsubscribe at any time.

Who we share it with

We never sell your information. We only share what is needed with:

  • PayFast, to process your payment
  • The Courier Guy, to deliver your parcel
  • Our email provider, to send order emails
  • Our website host and database provider, who store the information securely
  • Our accountant, and authorities where the law requires it

Some of these providers may store information on servers outside South Africa. We only use providers that protect it to a standard at least as strong as POPIA.

Cookies

We use a small number of cookies to keep your cart, keep you signed in to your account and keep the site secure. We do not use advertising cookies.

How long we keep it

We keep order and invoice records for 5 years, as tax law requires. Other information is kept only as long as we need it, then deleted.

Keeping it safe

Our website uses HTTPS encryption. Access to customer information is limited to the people who need it to fill your order.

Your rights

You can ask us to:

  • tell you what personal information we hold about you
  • correct information that is wrong
  • delete your information, except records we must keep by law
  • stop sending you marketing

Email info@howzatseat.co.za and we will respond within 30 days. If you are not happy with how we handled your information, you can complain to the Information Regulator at inforegulator.org.za.

Changes

If we change this policy, we will update it on this page with a new date.
